Looking for a great place to eat within walking distance to Chapman University? Check out any of these place in Old Towne Orange!

We’ve covered locally loved restaurants a bit further from the center of Orange—Old Towne—but let’s take a minute to cover some of our faves that are right in the heart of the city. (And why we love them so.)

Byblos Cafe

Byblos Cafe

129 W. Chapman Ave.
Orange, CA 92866

Byblos has been around forever—and with good reason. Their Mediterranean dishes are consistently delicious – in an open and airy atmosphere. They’ve recently updated the look (which was already quite stylish!), and have also updated the patio in the back for lovely al fresco dining.

The Baba Ghanouj, Falafels, Kafta Kababs and Beef Shawarma… all so good. A newer item on the menu is the Byblos Burger and it’s outstanding — unlike any burger you’ve ever had. Delish!

Finney'sFinney’s Crafthouse

204 W. Chapman Ave.
Orange, CA 92866

Finney’s is a newcomer to the Old Towne Orange restaurant scene, and they are great! The food is delicious and it offers a fun atmosphere with plenty of large screen televisions for sports enthusiasts. Be sure to check out the back patio on a balmy evening. (Only drawback – they’re always packed and don’t take reservations.)

Spicy Edamame at Wazabi's

Wazabi Sushi

240 W. Chapman Ave. Suite 102 (the front of Wazabi Sushi is actually on Lemon Street)
Orange, CA 92866

Don’t Miss: Spicy Edamame (so good).

From there, go anywhere on the menu. We’ve literally not had anything bad here – everything is awesome. (Some of my favorites include the Dynamite roll, the Darth Vader roll, the Donkey Kong roll, the Gloria’s Special roll, the Grenade and the Las Vegas roll. One I didn’t love as much (though it was still good), was the Lollipop — they wrap it in cucumber and there’s no rice. Healthier, probably, but I love rice.

Smoqued BBQ

Smoqued California BBQ

128 N. Glassell St.
Orange, CA 92866

Don’t miss: Smoked Candied Bacon

Having spent a few years just outside of Memphis, Tennessee, we were spoiled with some of the best barbecue joints in the nation. (Special shout outs here to the Bar-B-Q Shop in Memphis and the Commissary in Germantown.) Anyway, that said, Smoqued is great – and their bacon and burnt ends are outstanding.

Felix Continental Cafe

Felix Continental Cafe

36 Plaza Square
Orange, CA 92866

Don’t miss: Tres Leches Cake for dessert

Felix is another mainstay in Old Towne Orange. Situated in the southwestern corner of the Plaza, this Cuban and Spanish restaurant has been there forever. And I’ve been ordering the same dish forever – Pollo Criollo. Not once has it disappointed me. It’s such a simple dish, and yet it’s so yummy. It’s basically a butterflied chicken breast seasoned with lemon, and the most delicious black beans and rice. The fried maduro plantains are a treat.
